If you think you run your own shop when you sell on the Etsy platform, you are dead wrong. Sellers are not protected. More on that later, all the deets will be in my next blog. As for Etsy PR, if you can get through the hundreds of self published very positive, amazingly uplifting and inspirational articles by Etsy,

or the happy, smiling youngsters sitting in fancy offices in New York City, who can and will determine your future as a seller on Etsy, (yes, it’s actually true, and happened to me),

or the kicker: the Etsy motto; “Keep Commerce Human” ….

you will find hard truths in the soft underbelly of this money making machine. In fact Josh Silverman, Etsy Ceo, was awarded a 40 million dollar bonus following the rate hike and Etsy seller strike earlier this year.

Well, that doesn’t seem fair, does it?

So, when it’s time to cut bait, by let’s say a “seasoned” individual like me, it’s all about choices. Stay and let the punishment continue, yas, master, or move on. No one likes a whiner. But, there are thousands of sellers, like me, who have been kicked in the shins one too many times.

Liquidation of my Etsy store began yesterday. My very cool vintage item and clothing collections are up for auction on the Maxsold platform now with an end date of October 21, 2022. The next auction is planned for the end of November, so stay tuned.

So, this is just a short and sweet notification of where things are at with my vintage by jolie project for now.

It’s a sweet life, everything’s going to be okay.
